Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information mystery.live collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to run a public profile, keep the service secure, and understand which links people open.

1. Overview

mystery.live (“mystery.live,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a personal profile and link destination at https://mystery.live. Visitors can view a public profile and open listed connections. The site operator can sign in to an admin dashboard to manage profile details, appearance, and links, and to view simple click totals.

This Privacy Policy applies to the website, admin dashboard, and related services we operate. It does not apply to third-party websites or apps you reach through outbound links.

2. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Profile content. Display name, bio, avatar image, theme, background, and the social or web links published on the public page.
  • Account credentials. Admin username and a hashed password used only to authenticate the dashboard. We do not store plaintext passwords.
  • Connection details. Platform, handle, and destination URL for each published link. If a connection is authorized through a third-party provider, we may receive the limited profile information that provider returns for the requested scopes.
  • Usage analytics. When someone opens a listed connection, we record that the link was clicked, which link it was, and the time of the click. We use this to show aggregate totals in the dashboard. We do not attach a name or account to visitor clicks.
  • Technical and security data. Standard server and infrastructure logs may include IP address, browser type, request path, timestamps, and similar diagnostics used to operate, protect, and debug the service.
  • Session data. If you sign in to the admin dashboard, we store a session cookie so we can keep you signed in and protect forms with a CSRF token.

We do not require visitors to create an account to view the public profile. We do not sell personal information.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Display and operate the public profile and outbound links.
  • Authenticate the site operator and protect the admin dashboard.
  • Measure which connections receive clicks so the operator can understand engagement.
  • Maintain security, prevent abuse, and diagnose technical issues.
  • Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service.

4. How we share information

Profile content you publish is public by design. Anyone on the internet can view the display name, bio, avatar, and listed links.

We may also share information with:

  • Infrastructure providers that host, cache, or protect the site, including hosting, DNS, CDN, and security services.
  • Media and font providers that deliver background video, images, or web fonts when those assets are loaded in the browser.
  • Connected platforms when you follow an outbound link or authorize a connection. Those services have their own privacy policies.
  • Authorities if we are legally required to disclose information, or if disclosure is necessary to protect the service or others.

We do not sell, rent, or share personal information for cross-context advertising.

5. Cookies and sessions

mystery.live uses essential cookies for the admin dashboard: a secure, HTTP-only session cookie and a CSRF token used to protect form submissions. These cookies are necessary to keep an operator signed in and are not used for advertising.

Public visitors can use the profile without accepting optional marketing cookies. Your browser may still send standard request headers to our servers and infrastructure providers.

6. Retention

We keep profile content and connection data for as long as the service is operated in its current form, or until it is edited or deleted by the operator. Click totals are kept to power dashboard analytics and may be removed when a link is deleted. Technical logs are retained only as long as needed for security and operations. Session cookies expire when you sign out or the session ends.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures, including HTTPS, hashed admin credentials, HTTP-only session cookies, CSRF protection, and infrastructure-level access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Please use a strong unique password for the dashboard and treat published profile content as public.

8. Your choices and data deletion

The site operator can edit or remove profile information, avatars, and connections from the admin dashboard. Visitors do not have accounts on mystery.live. If you believe information about you appears on the public profile, or you want associated data removed, follow the steps on our user data deletion page.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal information, or to object to processing. We will respond to verified requests as required by applicable law.

9. Children

mystery.live is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the service after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
